This stem is what makes your slicing and grating discs work. It attaches to each disc via a sliding mechanism, and bridges the gap between your disc and the processor motor. Cuisinart now only manufactures slicing and grating discs with detachable stems, so if you are looking for a replacement for an older disc with an attached stem, know that you are going to need to purchase a flat disc and this detachable stem separately.
Note: This is compatible with the DLC-10 and the DLC-2007N processors.
